The new guy

The Reds bench got a little weaker today.IF Mike Costanzo was sent down to AAA today and was replaced by IF/OF Kris Negron. In my last post, I touched on just how bad the Reds bench (including Costanzo) has been this year. Negron was batting .212 in AAA this year but maybe he’ll be better than Costanzo.

Additionally, you might notice that Negron can also play the outfield. Drew Stubbs didn’t come out for his final at bat last night, he said he felt something “grab” in his abdomen. I hope this move doesn’t mean that Stubbs may be hurt.

UPDATE: Stubbs felt something in his ribs last night and is not in the lineup tonight.
